What this app is

Consent Guard adds a cookie-consent banner to a Shopify storefront and stores each visitor's choice through Shopify's own Customer Privacy API. It is installed by a merchant on their Shopify store.

What data we access

Consent Guard requests no API access scopes and reads no orders, customer profiles, or personal information. The visitor's consent choice is stored in the visitor's own browser (a first-party cookie and Shopify's Customer Privacy API); it is never sent to or stored by us.

Admin storefront scan

The app's admin dashboard fetches the merchant's public storefront HTML to detect which known third-party trackers are present. This reads only publicly available page markup, contains no personal data, and is used solely to show the merchant what they are asking consent for.

Data retention and deletion

The app stores only a Shopify session record needed to keep the app installed. When a merchant uninstalls the app, that record is removed.
